Trends in Standard Account Spreads
Honestly, Spreads Alone Are Not Impressive
Even for major USD pairs, the spread is basically 2 pips or more,
which is quite a harsh condition.
Bitcoin's spread is $60, twice that of the KIWAMI Extreme Account,
but it is not bad when considering the entire overseas FX market.
As for the Nikkei 225 (JP225), the spread is 7 yen/7 pips, which is one of the lowest levels.
Therefore, the Standard Account is honestly better suited for trading virtual currencies and stock indices
rather than forex.
Merits of the Standard Account
Deposit Bonus
XM's Deposit Bonus is only available for Standard and Micro accounts.
Basically, a 100% bonus is granted for the first deposit,
giving you extra margin.
The spread is too wide to be used for short-term trading (scalping),
but being able to have extra margin when aiming for price movements in day trading to swing trading might be an attraction.
XMP / XM Points (Loyalty Points) Are Generated
When you trade on XM's Standard Account,
you earn unique points called XM Points (XMP).
The Loyalty Program has been renewed, and the requirement has been shortened to 'holding a position for 5 minutes or more'.
XMP earn rates vary depending on your rank.
However, the system has changed from the previous 'Trading Days' to 'Quarterly Trading Volume' to determine your rank.

Required trading volume is an estimate.
If your status is Gold or higher, you can exchange points for cash,
but the return rate is quite low.
Exchanging them for trading credit is the most reasonable option with the highest return rate,
but even with the condition of exchanging for credit at Elite status:
- The Standard Account generally has spreads 1 pip or more wider than the KIWAMI Extreme Account.
- Even including XMP, the effective spread is wider than the KIWAMI Extreme Account.
This is the unfortunate part.
However, since you have to use a Standard Account to receive the Deposit Bonus,
it might be good to raise your status to cover some of the spread, which is the weak point of this account.
[Warning] 'Raising Rank by Leaving Positions Open' is No Longer Possible
Previously, you could reach the highest rank just by holding a position and waiting for days to pass.
However, now 'Trading Volume' is required, so that trick can no longer be used.
You need to purely repeat trades to raise your rank.
